Daly Waters was established to service cattle droving routes, this small township was also incorporated into the Overland Telegraph Line and was a major staging post for troop and supply movements during World War II.
Famous for huge feeds, including breakfast, the Daly Waters Historic Pub is a must for travellers wishing to experience the true character of the outback. The pub was built in the 1930’s to service early Qantas passengers on refuelling stops to and from London at what was Australia’s first international airfield.
The pub has various styles of accommadation Backpackers,Motel, Cabins and a campground. During the Dry season(April) there is beef and barra barbeque and entertainment everynight. It also boasts a refreshing saltwater pool open to travellers and guests. The pub was awarded Best Wayside in 2005 There is an annual B&S Ball held at Easter time and a rodeo in September.
